Evaluations and Team Selection Process for 2022
FOR ALL TACKLE TEAMS The Board of Directors have determined that participation in the evaluation exercises is compulsory for all players participating in tackle football.
Providing there are enough players to accommodate more than one team in any given age group, after the evaluation process has been completed, the coaches will select their teams and the players will be sorted according to their skills and level of development, The North Shore Colts reserve the right to cap a team roster at a size they feel will give the age group the best opportunity to play at a competitive level while keeping their players safe. While no players will be turned away, roster size, football IQ and skill sets will determine playing time.
Should any player fail to participate in evals and is placed on a team of lesser skill, the coaches at a higher level in that age group will have the right to retain that player within the first 2 weeks of team practices.
We will not accept requests for specific coaches or teams, as this may compromise the integrity of the skill set in existing teams and undermine the goal of having all players compete at a level that is appropriate for them.

CLICK HERE to register for the 2022 FLAG season
Cost is $105
Our 5-6 year old flag division has been specially crafted for this age group and aims to improve balance, eye-hand coordination and motor skill development. Your child will learn the basics of the game, awareness of offensive and defensive field direction, and skills such as running with the ball, passing and catching. The playbook for this age group is kept simple to enable players to grow more comfortable and self-confident in the sport. We rotate players through various positions so everyone learns the importance of playing as a team member. Rules are enforced with an emphasis on teachable moments. At this stage, the most important outcomes are to develop a love of the game, increased self-confidence and to have fun! Fewer players and a smaller field help athletes gain confidence as they learn crucial fundamental skills, while enjoying plenty of playing time!
